These days, TEAC is widely known for its Reference Series of audio products and, more recently, for its range of iPod/iPad audio solutions. What people don’t generally know is that TEAC also makes the recording devices that are found in the infamous ‘Black Box’ flight recorders on the majority of the world’s planes. Link this to the fact that TEAC also manufacture the majority of the worlds CD/DVD drives for PC use and you are now aware of the scale of the company.
More widely known for the TEAC consumer audio products, the company has two sister brands – Esoteric (high-end audio) and Tascam (professional audio). Therefore it is a company that genuinely offers products for practically every audio application.
